“Friend, i think you need a u-turn. You are going towards the wrong direction!”
Heard this from my friend over the phone the other day when I go to Putrajaya. After I described to him the landmarks and every signboard I see, he threw these words at me.
“Ok ok, call you back after I found one!” I said
Putrajaya is a nightmare to me. I still get lost there no matter how many times I’ve been there. The roads and buildings all look the same, and the signboards not really worthy of my trust. Worst of all… it’s hard to get a U-turn once you go on the wrong direction! (Well planned huh?)
I used to drive so many kilometers away from where I was suppose to go to before I can make a U-turn. When I found that U-turn, I can’t help but to shout ‘Hallelujah Praie the Lord!”
You know, it doesn’t feel good when you know you are going on a wrong direction, and yet you still can’t find any way out. The fear and anxiety gripped hold of me so much that I couldn’t enjoy the sceneries along the way, and I couldn’t focus on driving. No point, because I am heading towards the wrong direction!
U-turn to me, then, is a HOPE:
- to get back on the right track
- to save some petrol
- to reach the destination earlier
- to ease my anxiety
- to feel confident of where I am heading to
Well, i think this is pretty much the same with our life. Don’t you think so?
Often a times we feel lost, feel like our life is not going anywhere. There’s a voice crying out in us that says: “Wrong way man, wrong way!” yet we can’t help but to keep going (even if we know it is wrong). Sometimes we have to put that cry off with our busyness, or trying to turn our attention away to somewhere else, so that we can put that doubt aside for a while… but can we? Really?
What is your U-turn in life?
To me, I believe in Repentance (turning away from sins and turn back to God). Yet repentance means nothing if God never forgives our sins in first place!
“Christ never sinned! But God treated him as a sinner, so that Christ could make us acceptable to God.” (2 Cor 5:21)
Are you lost? Do you feel uncertain of your future? If you do, me friend, I think you need a ‘U-Turn’ in life. It’s funny when you know that there’s a U-turn yet you don’t want to take it to get back on track. But it is never too late. It is not the time that matters, but your willingness does.
